Lobos Continue 2026 Opening Weekend

Alpine, Texas — Sul Ross State University Baseball (0–2, 0–2 LSC) continued its opening weekend series Saturday afternoon at Kokernot Field, hosting St. Mary's University (2–0, 2–0 LSC) in Game 2 of the three-game Lone Star Conference series. The Lobos battled offensively but fell to the Rattlers by a final score of 20–11.

Sul Ross continued to generate offense behind strong performances from Jacob Binder, Leo Salas, and Juan Garcia. Binder led the Lobos with five RBIs, highlighted by a grand slam, while Salas went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and provided consistent production throughout the lineup. Garcia added a solo home run in the ninth inning, capping the Lobos' offensive effort as they continued to battle at the plate.

Sul Ross closes the opening weekend series Sunday at Kokernot Field with Game 3 against St. Mary's University. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
