Lobos Compete with Aggies on Home Floor

Alpine, Texas — Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball (1–14, LSC 0–9) hosted Cameron University (2–15, LSC 2–7) Saturday afternoon at the Pete P. Gallego Center. The Lobos battled on their home floor in a 64-70 Lone Star Conference loss to the Cameron Aggies.

Sul Ross put together steady offensive production across all four quarters, scoring 15 points in the opening period, 16 in the second, 19 in the third, and 14 in the final quarter. Leslie Mojica paced the Lobos with a game-high 20 points, shooting 6-of-16 from the field and 2-of-6 from three-point range, while adding six rebounds, six assists, and three steals in an all-around performance. Sophiya Bustillos followed closely with 19 points on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting, knocking down both of her three-point attempts and finishing a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line to go along with three rebounds and two assists as Sul Ross stayed within striking distance throughout the Lone Star Conference matchup.

The Lobos hit the road on Tuesday, January 20, traveling to Silver City, New Mexico for a Lone Star Conference matchup against Western New Mexico University. Tipoff is set for 5:00 PM MT.
