Lobos Picked 10th In Lone Star Conference Poll

MCKINNEY, TX – Angelo State has been picked first in the 2025 Lone Star Conference Preseason Football Poll.  The poll was announced Thursday, July 24 at the LSC Football Media Day at McKinney ISD Stadium's Community Event Center in McKinney, Texas.

The Rams received 23 first place votes and 292 points to finish 35 points ahead of Central Washington.  Rounding out the Top five was UT Permian Basin (3rd – 229 points), Texas A&M Kingsville (4th – 211 points) and Western Oregon (5th – 173 points).

Sul Ross State was picked 10th with 51 points.

The Lobos are coached by Lee Hays who is in his first year.  The LSC offensive player to watch is junior offensive lineman Travyon Young who started all 10 games he played.  On defense, it is senior defensive back Brendon Martin.  He had 52 solo tackles with 26 assists for 78 total tackles, broke up two passes and picked off three for 53 yards, returning one for a touchdown.  He was an All-LSC second team selection.
