Sul Ross Competes with Toughness in LSC Matchup

Alpine, Texas — Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball (1–7, LSC 0–3) continued to take positive steps Thursday evening, competing with toughness and discipline in a 43-55 Lone Star Conference matchup against the University of Texas at Dallas (4–5, LSC 1–2) at the Pete P. Gallego Center. The Lobos defended with purpose, played physical on the glass, and stayed connected throughout the contest, showing continued growth in their execution and effort as they build consistency and identity through conference play.

Ariana Escalante led the Lobos with a game-high 18 points, consistently attacking the basket, finishing through contact, and setting the tone offensively with her aggressive play. Sophiya Bustillos added nine points and continued to battle on both ends, providing energy, ball pressure, and toughness throughout the contest. Victoria Aguayo rounded out the Lobo leaders with a physical two-way performance, recording eight points, a team-high 10 rebounds, and three steals as Sul Ross leaned on defensive effort and resilience in the Lone Star Conference matchup.
