Lobos Fall To Patriots

TYLER, Texas – The Sul Ross State University volleyball team (1-12 LSC, 3-17) lost 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-16) to UT Tyler (8-4 LSC, 12-10), Friday night at the Herrington Patriot Center. 

In the first set, UT Tyler and Sul Ross State traded points until 4-4.  The Patriots went on an 11-4 run to take control.

In the second set, UTT and the Lobos went back-and-forth the entire way.  Freshman Samantha Senak stuffed the hitter to close the gap to 24-23.  UT Tyler managed to get the next point to end the set. 

In the third set, SRSU forced an error to make it 5-5.  The Patriots went on a 10-3 run to effectively end the match.

For Sul Ross State, sophomore Novah Carrasco had nine kills and hit .273 while freshman Jade Munoz had 15 assists and 12 digs.

For UT Tyler, Autumn Perry had 16 kills and 17 digs.

Sul Ross State remains on the road, Saturday, Nov. 1, taking on UT Dallas.  The match is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
