Lobos And Buffs Get Defensive

ALPINE, Texas – Defense was the name of the game as the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (2-2-4 Lone Star Conference, 5-4-6) battled West Texas A&M (2-4-2 LSC, 5-7-2) to a 0-0 stalemate, Wednesday afternoon at Lobo Soccer Field. 

Sul Ross State and West Texas A&M played lockdown defense which contributed to just six combined shots on goal.

Sul Ross State had five shots with two on goal, two corner kicks and were called for 10 fouls.

West Texas A&M had nine shots with four on goal, three corner kicks and were called for 14 fouls.

"Another bittersweet moment. Eight clean sheets is nothing to be ashamed of, but without goals we don't win games.  Another couple more records completed today and we're proud of those, but we want to win games."

Sul Ross State hits the road for the final time, Saturday, Nov. 1, playing #9 Midwestern State.  The game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
