Lobos Battle On in LSC Play

Alpine, TX – Sul Ross State University Women's Soccer (2-13, 1-10 LSC) fell 4-0 to Texas A&M International (2-8-3, 2-7-2 LSC) Saturday morning at Lobo Soccer Field.

Goalkeeper Kathy Palmer anchored the Lobo defense with 11 saves, keeping the team in the match while Sul Ross worked to contain the Dustdevils and generate scoring chances. The Lobos showed determination and continued to build momentum as Lone Star Conference play winds down, highlighting the team's resilience and effort.

"We put ourselves in a tough spot today with another slow start. The two goals we conceded in the first half were preventable, and we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard in those moments. We can't wait until the second half to turn it on — that has been our pattern this season, and it must change. When we stay disciplined to the game plan, we create chances, and we had opportunities to shift the game. But chances don't mean anything if we don't finish them. We need to be more consistent, more accountable, and play a full 90 minutes with the same urgency we show in the second half. I believe in this group, but belief has to be matched with execution from the opening whistle," – Soccer Women's Head Coach John Dominguez.

The Lobos continue Lone Star Conference play when they host Dallas Baptist on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 12:00 PM at Lobo Soccer Field.
