Lobos See Comets Shine On

ALPINE, Texas – It was 90 minutes of hard work as the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (2-2-3 Lone Star Conference, 5-4-5) lost 1-0 to UT Dallas (6-0-1, LSC, 10-3-2), Saturday afternoon at Lobo Soccer Field. 

Sul Ross State and UT Dallas played solid defense which led to not very many chances for either team.  With eight minutes to go, the Comets scored off a rebound.  The Lobos had three near misses in the last seven minutes of the game.

Sul Ross State had 16 shots with five on goal, four corner kicks and were called for 10 fouls.

UT Dallas had 14 shots with six on goal, three corner kicks and were called for 10 fouls.

"Tough result today for our guys. We felt we did more than enough to come out with the three points.  We're still needing to finish that big moment to win a game with that much weight.  Three games left and a lot to play for."

Sul Ross State stays home, Wednesday, Oct. 29, playing West Texas A&M.  The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
