Sul Ross State Competes At Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas –The Sul Ross State University cross country team ran at the SU Showdown, Saturday.

For the men (8K), Dallas Baptist scored 18 points to win by 66 over Southwestern (Texas).

The top runner was senior Carles Guerrero who ran 32:51.10 to finish 68th. Rounding out the squad was sophomore Francisco Santacruz (35:58.10 – 79^th), sophomore Racer Portillo (37:02.73 – 81^st) and senior Roman Salcido (48:10.49 – 88^th).

For the women (6K), Dallas Baptist scored 38 points to win by 22 over Southwestern (Texas). The Lobos scored 263 points to place ninth.

The top runner was junior Samantha Bustos who ran 32:57.02 to finish 49^th. Rounding out the squad was freshman Josabeth Hernandez (34:00.50 – 52^nd), freshman Olivia Hoelscher (34:12.06 – 53^rd), freshman Jaclyn Pate (35:08.76 – 54^th) and junior Ana Garcia Camara (38:40.87 – 55^th).

Sul Ross State will run at the Lone Star Conference Championships, Saturday, Oct. 25. The meet is in Richardson, Texas.
