>> WHAT THE COACH SAID:
"A big thing after Thursday's game is that we have to be selfishly collective, and today we did that. Three different goals scorers is big time. That shows that the team plays together, that shows that the tactics work, that shows that the offensive play and the structure and principles of play all came together. Losing on Thursday was the game we needed for us to humble down. Today the girls showed their character." —
John Dominguez on his teams win
"Our defense is going to be the bread and butter of this team. They're very organized. I have nothing but knowledge back there with
Yazmin Rodriguez,
Serena Escobar and also
Samantha Ramirez. Sara, the freshman, has come in from Midland and stepped up and has played a very pivotal role for us this season." —
Dominguez on the strong defensive effort
"It was great. When we see red, we get happy. It doesn't matter where we're at. Hospitality was at 100 percent today. Anything we needed down to the logistics of the game, we got it. I want to thank Eagle Pass on behalf of me and my girls. They made it a night to remember and I hope we did the same for them." —

>> WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID:
"It feels really good. I was very nervous for the penalty kick, but I did it and we went up. It's very relieving. We're very happy. Now we get to enjoy our ride back home." —
Karina Gallegos
"The opportunity was there and I shot it. I was scared, but I had to do it for the team. This victory was amazing. We're a little shaky, but we went hard and handled hard better right there. The defense was on point. We did so well." —
Soleil Ortez
"It was pretty big, especially for our first win. Playing a team like them — they're D-III but they're very good and really strong. We knew we were in for a longer game. It was good to win. We really needed it. I think we all contributed really well. I just saw a completely open goal and hit it." —
Mia Serrano
