PLAINVIEW, Texas — After a scoreless first half, the floodgates opened for the Sul Ross State women's soccer team during the second half.
Mia Serrano and
Sarayi Serrano combined to score four goals to put up a 4-0 victory over Wayland Baptist on Wednesday afternoon at J.V. Hilliard Field.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos had seven shots in the first half while holding Wayland Baptist to just one shot.
Sul Ross State tallied four shots in the first 10 and a half minutes of the contest.
Wayland Baptist's lone shot in the first half was wide off the mark.
Mia Serrano ended the scoreless draw by scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Nearly 51 seconds later,
Sarayi Serrano extended the lead to 2-0.
The Lobos made the score 3-0 when
Mia Serrano found the back of the net nearly five minutes after the second goal of the contest.
Sul Ross State scored quickly as
Sarayi Serrano delivered the final goal that came off an assist by
Sienna Ramirez in the 80th minute.
