BELTON, Texas — During the series finale Saturday afternoon, the Sul Ross State softball team was held to four hits as the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders came away with the sweep after the 6-1 victory at Dee Dillon Field.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
Bailey Frenzel gave the Crusaders a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run.
UMHB scored once more in the third and fourth innings with a pair of RBI singles to make the score 4-0.
During the top of the fifth,
Madison Hodges started things off with a double and later tagged up to third on a fly out to right by
Adriana Hernandez.
Jasmine Garcia grounded out to second to allow Hodges to score.
The Crusaders tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth on a pair of RBI singles to extend their lead to five.
