LONGVIEW, Texas — The Sul Ross State softball team engaged in two competitive and close ballgames Saturday afternoon against LeTourneau University.
In Game 1, the Lobos were edged out 3-1.
Sul Ross State held a 3-0 lead in Game 2 before the Yellow Jackets rallied back to win the game, 4-3, at the LETU Softball Field.

The Lobos were held scoreless until the top of the fifth when
Vivian Jimenez reached second after a throwing error by the shortstop.
Jimenez advanced to third on the wild pitch, which allowed
Samantha Chavez to drive her in with a ground out to second.

- The Lobos were to held to three hits.
- Lily Wiser went 2 for 3 after hitting a pair of singles in the first and fourth.
- Ciera Avila finished 1 for 3 with a single to right in the second.
- Leanza Chambers gave up seven hits in six innings while she fanned three batters.
>> GAME 2:
The Lobos rallied for three runs in the top of the fourth.
Wiser hit a leadoff single while Avila drew a one-out walk.
Samantha Bustos also drew a walk to load up the bases.
Wiser later scored on a throwing error by the third baseman.
Madison Hodges then delivered an RBI single while Chavez followed up with a single to center to drive in Bustos.
The Yellow Jackets answered back in the bottom half of the fourth with a solo home run.
LeTourneau went on to tie the game at three-all in the bottom of the fifth by taking advantage of two Lobo miscues.
The Yellow Jackets were able to win in walk-off fashion on an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.

- Kyndell Garcia finished 1 for 2 with a single.
- Hodges ended up going 1 for 1 with a pinch-hit RBI single.
- Erin Trevino tossed a three-hitter in 4.2 innings as she allowed one earned run.
