TUCSON, Ariz. — On the final day of the Tucson Invitational on Sunday afternoon, the Sul Ross State baseball team split its two games.
In Game 1, the Lobos defeated Augsburg University 11-6 at the Kino Sports Complex.
Sul Ross State dropped the second game to Gustavus Adolphus College, 13-0, in seven innings.

The Lobos trailed 3-0 until getting on the board in the second when
Primo Vasquez scored on a balk.
In the third,
Estevan Ortiz drove in
Aaron Morales on a groundout to short to cut the deficit to one run.
Jared Roiz tied up the game in the fourth when he hit an RBI double to center.
Alvaro Hernandez later gave the Lobos a 4-3 lead with a sacrifice fly to right.
Ortiz added to the inning with an RBI single to center.
On three hits and two runs, Augsburg came back to tie the game at five-all in the bottom of the fourth.
The Lobos rallied for six runs on six hits in the top of the ninth to pull away for the win.
With one out, Morales and Ortiz delivered back-to-back singles.
Carsen Thor then reached on an error to load up the bases.
Peyten Kennard gave the Lobos the lead back with a two RBI single to center.
Vasquez and
Corbin Dube hit back-to-back RBI singles to extend the lead to three runs. Roiz kept the inning alive by hitting a two RBI single to center.

- Morales went 4 for 5 with four singles.
- Ortiz finished 3 for 4 with three singles and two RBI.
- Dube had three singles and an RBI to go 3 for 5.
- Roiz went 2 for 5 with a single, a double and three RBI.
- Kennard had a single, a walk and two RBI to go 1 for 3.
- Vasquez and Thor each went 1 for 5 with a single.
- Dawson Beard struck out four batters in four innings.
- Derek Rojo was tabbed as the winning pitcher after he threw four innings allowing two hits with two strikeouts.

The Lobos were held to four hits against Gustavus Adolphus.
Holding a 1-0 lead heading into the third, the Gustavus Adolphus scored three runs on four hits to extend its lead to 4-0.
Gustavus Adolphus got two home runs in the fourth to put together a five-run inning to make the score 9-0.
