Deon Brown scored 20 points for the Lobo men's basketball team, but it ended up suffering an 89-45 loss to the St. Mary's Rattlers on Friday night at the Pete P. Gallego Center.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
After knocking down a pair of three-pointers, the Rattlers led by 10 with 16:13 in the opening half.
The Rattlers held a 14-point lead until
Manny Flores hit a jumper in the paint with 10:22 on the clock.
Sul Ross State cut the deficit to 11 by scoring four unanswered points which included a layup from
Myles Amason and a tip-in by
Ethan Yancy.
St. Mary's revamped its lead by going on an 8-0 run just before the end of the half to take a 20-point lead.
The Rattlers held their largest lead of the contest when Josh Reid made a layup to put them up by 50 points with 3:09 left in the game.

- Brown nailed a team-high five 3-pointers.
- Cam Clardy, Yancy and Amason each had six points.
- Amason led the way with seven rebounds before fouling out of the contest.
- Louie Yebra added with six rebounds.
- Clardy also had four rebounds and two steals.
- The Lobos shot 4 for 7 from the free throw line while they were 18 of 47 from the field.
- St. Mary's won the battle on the boards by grabbing 38 rebounds to SRSU's 24.
