LUBBOCK, Texas — The Sul Ross State men's soccer team won its second-straight match with a 3-1 victory over Lubbock Christian on Wednesday night at the LCU Soccer and Track Complex.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
Both defenses were locked in the first half as Lubbock Christian was held to four shots while the Lobos tallied two shot attempts.
The Lobos took one shot at the net in the opening half while
Benjamin Aviles made two saves in the net.
Carlos Gonzalez broke the ice with a goal in the 72nd minute.
Lewis Coates then extended the lead for the Lobos by finding the back of the net in the 80th minute with an assist from
Zachary Trimming.
Lubbock Christian cut the deficit to one in the 86th minute when Saimon Gjeci scored off an assist by Nako Amare.
The Lobos added an insurance goal in the 89th minute when Trimming found the back of the net.
