On Saturday afternoon, the Sul Ross State men's soccer team was attempting to become the first squad in program history to upset a nationally ranked opponent.
It was a physical and grueling match, filled with plenty of emotions.
In the end, the No. 14 Midwestern State Mustangs came away with the 2-0 victory after scoring both goals in the second half at the Lobo Soccer Field.

Midwestern State took eight shots in the first half as
Benjamin Aviles made four saves to help the Lobos preserve a scoreless match heading into the half.
The Mustangs erased the shutout with a goal from Samuele Muroni in the 64th minute that came off an assist by Cooper Tea and Mere Escobar.
Muroni scored once more in the 66th minute with an assist by Jaime Villagomez.
