LONGVIEW, Texas — Three Lobos had double-digit scoring figures, unfortunately the Sul Ross State men's basketball team fell to LeTourneau University, 89-76, Saturday afternoon at the Solheim Arena.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos trailed by 17 at the 11:54 mark after LeTourneau began the game on a 6-0 run.
Sul Ross State managed to get the deficit down to 12 with 4:09 to go in the first half.
Bryson Laird and
Hayden Peterson each scored in the paint to brew up a 4-0 run.
LeTourneau grew its lead to 21 with 18:47 in the second half.
The Lobos brought the deficit back to 12 with a layup by
Gabe Sanchez with 10:49 on the clock before LeTourneau went up by 18.
Sul Ross State went on a 6-0 run to bring it back to within 12. Laird scored five points during the run.
The deficit was too large to erase as the Lobos managed to get to within 13 after they closed out the contest on a 4-0 run.

- Laird played a season-high 33 minutes as he scored a season-high 27 points. He went a perfect 9 for 9 from the charity stripe while tallying two steals, an assist and five rebounds.
- Tyler Jackson finished with 18 points, two assists and six rebounds.
- Sanchez ended with 11 points and four assists.
- Deveraux Minix added with seven points, two assists and four rebounds.
- The Lobos grabbed 35 rebounds and tallied 15 assists and nine steals.
- Sul Ross State shot 15 of 21 from the charity stripe.
- The bench contributed with 49 points.
