ODESSA, Texas — On Day 1 of the Dr. Steve Aicienena "Iceman" Invitational, the Sul Ross State volleyball team faced off against two future Lone Star Conference opponents at the Falcon Dome on Friday.

There were four different lead changes to start the opening set.
Eastern New Mexico used a 5-0 run to break away before the Lobos went on a 3-0 run to cut the deficit to two after a kill by
Cassandra Espinoza.
The Greyhounds then separated themselves with four 3-0 rallies to take the first game.
Sul Ross State was trailing by four early in the second set.
Daniella Garcia came away with a kill while
Tatyana Colon had a service ace to cut the deficit to one.
Eastern New Mexico then grew its lead to two before
Daniella Garcia tallied back-to-back kills to tie the set.
The set was tied once more until the Greyhounds used a 5-0 run to pull away for the win.
Sul Ross State fought hard in the final set, but Eastern New Mexico took advantage of another 5-0 run to take a seven-point lead to notch the sweep.

- Daniella Garcia led the way with nine kills.
- Espinoza finished with eight kills and seven digs while Sarah Chavez had five kills.

Sul Ross State held the lead three times in the opening set against the Rattlers.
The Lobos used a 3-0 run to lead 7-5 early on. Espinoza highlighted the run with a kill.
St. Mary's rallied back to take a one-point lead.
A pair of kills from
Daniella Garcia and
Loren Garcia gave the Lobos a one-point lead.
The Rattlers gained some breathing room with a 5-0 run to take the first set.
Sul Ross State had a hot start in the second set as Mata had a service ace while
Loren Garcia landed two kills to make the score 4-0.
St. Mary's then surged back into the contest by using some key rallies to take the second game.
After three early lead changes to start the third game, the Rattlers took the lead and never looked back as they came away with the sweep.

- Loren Garcia and Daniella Garcia each recorded five kills.
- Mata tallied a double-double with 11 assists and 11 digs.
