RICHARDSON, Texas — The late comeback efforts fell short on Saturday afternoon as the Sul Ross State women's soccer team fell 2-1 to the University of Texas at Dallas Comets at the UTD Soccer Complex.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Comets held a 1-0 lead at the half after scoring in the 22nd minute.
On a penalty kick, UT-Dallas extended its lead in the 84th minute.
Sul Ross State then erased the shutout with a goal from
Karina Gallegos in the 85th minute.
Gallegos has now scored in five straight games as she has a team-high six goals.

- Gallegos is tied for fifth in goals scored in the American Southwest Conference.
- The Lobos managed to have more shots than the Comets (21-7).
- Sul Ross State finished with 11 shots on goal.
- Deserie Herrera had nine shots and five shots on goal.
- Brianna Cruz tallied three shots and two shots on goal.
- Victoria Vidaurre finished with two shots and one shot on goal.
- Allison Cohen, Natalie Diaz and Yazmin Rodriguez each had one shot.
