FORT WORTH, Texas — Despite taking more shots in the contest, the Sul Ross State women's soccer team wasn't able to capitalize on Saturday afternoon at Martin Field as the Texas Wesleyan University Rams came out with the 8-2 victory.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
Texas Wesleyan scored four goals in the first half. The first one came a minute into the match.
Sul Ross State erased the shutout during the 72nd minute of the second half when
Sarayi Serrano found the back of the net off an assist by
Yissel Olivares.
Karina Gallegos later scored in the 88th minute with an assist by Serrano.

- The Lobos tallied 25 shots with 14 coming in the first half.
- Sul Ross State had 17 shots on the goal.
- Deserie Herrera had five shots as four came at the goal.
- Serrano took eight shots, six on the mark.
- Serrano and Gallegos are tied for the team lead in goals with three.
