It was a battle between two west Texas schools on Tuesday afternoon at the Lobo Soccer Field.
The Lobo women's soccer team had the upper hand early in the first half, holding a 2-0 lead, before the University of Texas-Permian Basin Falcons scored two goals late in the half to even up the score at the break.
UTPB unfortunately scored what ended up being the game-winning goal in the second half to come away with the 3-2 victory.

On a free kick,
Emily Garcia got the Lobos on the board during the 18th minute.
Karina Gallegos then extended Sul Ross State's lead by finding the back of the net off an assist by
Yissel Olivares in the 21st minute.
Sul Ross State controlled most of the possession during the first 23 minutes of play until the Falcons erased the shutout with a goal in the 28th minute.
The Falcons got one more goal in the 36th minute.
It was a defensive battle until UTPB broke through the defense and answered with a goal in the 71st minute.

- The Lobos finished with 12 shots, six came on the mark.
- Deserie Herrera, Garcia, Olivares, Gallegos and Daniela Ibarra all had two shots each.
- Gallegos now has a team-high four goals.
- Garcia has tallied two goals on the season.
