TUCSON, Ariz. — On the second and final day of the Tucson Invitational Games at Lincoln Park, the Sul Ross State softball team swept their competition to finish 3-1.
In Game 1, the Lobos defeated Dawson Community College, 6-3.
Behind 13 hits, Sul Ross went on to beat Coe College, 9-4, in the second game.
Mother Nature put a damper on the schedule as rain moved into the area which caused the cancelation of the third game against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Considered a JV game, the Lobos trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the second.
Elizabeth Clemente led off the inning with a single and then stole second with two outs.
Hannah Clark then tied up the game with an RBI single to right.
The Lobo offense got hot in the bottom of the third as
Kyndell Garcia and
Jenna Spencer hit back-to-back singles.
After a runner was caught stealing,
Veronica Rodriguez followed up with another single with one out.
Leanza Chambers drew a walk to load up the bases for Clemente who hit a bases-clearing three RBI double to left to put the Lobos ahead 4-1.
After a 1-2-3 top of the fifth for the Lobo defense, the offense added another run in the bottom half of the frame with a sacrifice fly to right by Chambers which drove in Garcia.
Dawson Community College cut the deficit to two runs in the top of the sixth by scoring two runs.
Hunter Montes delivered an RBI single that drove in
Samantha Chavez in the bottom of the sixth to put Sul Ross ahead by three.
The Lobos had nine hits to Dawson's seven.
Clemente finished 2 for 3 with a single, double and three RBI. Spencer had two singles to go 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Garcia also hit a pair of singles to finish 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Clark and Montes each went 1 for 3 with a single and an RBI. Rodriguez finished 1 for 2 with a single and a run scored.
Erin Trevino started in the circle, allowing one earned on three hits with one strikeout in three innings of work.
Madilyn Martinez relieved the final four innings as she allowed two earned runs on four hits with one strikeout.

Sul Ross kept Coe College scoreless through the first three innings.
The Lobos got on the board in the bottom of the third when
Nadia Valverde belted a two-run home run.
Coe cut the deficit to one by scoring a run in the top of the fourth.
Sul Ross answered back by scoring three runs in the bottom half of the fourth. Garcia hit an RBI single to start the rally.
Camryn Hardin then drove in
Lisbeth Dominguez on a fielder's choice to second. Chavez later hit an RBI single to left to make the score 5-1.
Coe came back to within two runs in the top of the fifth.
The Lobos matched their opponent by scoring two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Sul Ross loaded up the bases after a leadoff single by Valverde, a double by
Jaelyn Zuniga and a walk by Clemente.
With one out, Dominguez drew the walk to drive in Clark. Garcia then brought in Zuniga on a sacrifice fly to right to extend the Lobos' lead to four runs.
Sul Ross pushed across two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Annika Canaba hit a one-out double and then Valverde singled to left.
Zuniga delivered an RBI single to left while
Claire Decker drove in Spencer with an RBI single to right.
Canaba finished 3 for 4 with two singles, a double and two runs scored while Valverde went 3 for 4 with two singles, a home run and two RBI.
Zuniga hit a single and a double to go 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Garcia and Dominguez each went 1 for 2 with a single. Garcia drove in two runs while Dominguez brought in one.
Decker and Chavez each finished 1 for 4 with a single and an RBI.
Clemente tallied a double and a walk to go 1 for 3.
Chambers improved to 2-1 in the circle after throwing a complete-game allowing six hits and four earned runs with two strikeouts.
