It was a suspenseful and competitive match.
The Sul Ross State men's soccer team played its heart out on Saturday afternoon by tying the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders 0-0 at the Lobo Soccer Field.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos attempted three shots in the first half while the Crusaders fired off nine shots.
Sul Ross State's defense was impenetrable as
Jose Rangel made four saves in the net.
UMHB tallied 21 shots compared to eight by the Lobos.
Rangel and the Lobo defense were there every time to spoil a run by the Crusaders. Rangel had seven saves in the second half.
The Lobos played their most competitive match against the Crusaders since having a scoreless double overtime draw back on March 1, 2021.
UMHB had outscored its opponents 11-1 heading into the match against the Lobos.
