ALPINE, Texas - Softball threw 12 shutout innings in 9-0 and 5-0 wins over University of the Ozarks.
"It was a total team effort today," said head coach
Troy Canaba. "We were able to have some of our players step up in some big spots today. The defense was pretty solid today."

Heather Rios for a 2-0 lead after two.
Sully put up seven runs in the fourth to take command of the game. Rios first tripled around
Payslee Sims to make it 3-0. Hardin later doubled around Rios and
Veronica Rodriguez for a 5-0 lead.
Samantha Chavez then doubled home Hardin before
Annika Canaba singled in Chavez. Valverde then singled around Canaba to make it 8-0. Sims finished scoring with a double to score
Lisbeth Dominguez for the 9-0 advantage.
Jodie Vaughn was dominant on the mound in the 9-0 win. She tallied 10 strikeouts and surrendered just two hits in a complete five innings.
Hardin and Rios both supplied a game-best two hits. Hardin finished with a game-high three RBI.
Game 2: Sul Ross 5, Ozarks 0
0-0 in the fifth,
Taryn Griner doubled home Rios for a 1-0 lead.
Raquelle Bernal then ran for Griner and scored after stealing third and scoring on a throwing error for a 2-0 score.
Alejandra Ruedas brought Spencer around on a fielder's choice for a 3-0 lead.
Jaelyn Zuniga later singled around Ruedas and
Veronica Rodriguez for a 5-0 lead that eventually went final.
Danielle Gomez went 5.1 shutout innings with four strikeouts and a walk.
Vaughn relieved Gomez and threw the final 1.2 innings without allowing a hit for her third save of the season.
Valverde led the way with a pair of hits.
The Lobos improve to 19-14 and 12-11 in the ASC. Ozarks dips to 6-24 and 4-18.
Sully finishes the series with the Eagles at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow and will honor their seniors following the game.
