JACKSON, Mississippi - Softball resumed their series at Belhaven on Saturday, falling 6-1 and 9-0.
Game 1: Belhaven 6, Sul Ross 1
Danielle Gomez paced the Lobos to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second with a double that scored
Nadia Valverde.
Sully kept their 1-0 lead until the fourth inning. Belhaven went on to score all six of their runs in the bottom of the fourth and held on for a 6-1 win.
Jodie Vaughn went all six innings from the circle, striking out four.
Game 2: Belhaven 9, Sul Ross 0 (5 innings)
The Blazers got out to an early 2-0 lead after one. They kept things going with two in the third and five in the fourth to give them a 9-0 lead and win after five innings.
Hunter Montes was on the bump to start game two. She went 3.2 innings with four strikeouts.
The Lobos now sit at 11-11 (4-8 ASC). Belhaven moves to 18-1 (11-1 ASC).
Sully is back at home next week for a series against #10 East Texas Baptist starting on Friday, March 25.
