TUCSON, Arizona - Baseball finished their trip at the Tucson Invitational with an 11-1 win over Macalester on Saturday and a 12-9 win over Augsburg on Sunday.
"The last two weeks of non-conference have been good for us," said head coach
Bobby Mesker. "We played a 2021 regional in Texas Lutheran and saw what we need to win games against opponents like that. This Tucson Invitational gave us a feel of what it's like to play four games in three days. Situations like this throw routines off and you're not feeling 100%. I thought they handled the Macalester game like a championship caliber team, but the long weekend caught up with us today in the middle of the game and nearly cost us the win against Augsburg. They did find a way when it counted late, but they know they'll have to play better to beat teams in the ASC Tournament."
