ALPINE, Texas -
Marley Rokas finished with new career-highs of 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead women's hoops to a 91-60 win over Belhaven on Thursday night.
"We are still trying to sharpen our skills as a team and our cohesion week by week," said head coach
Katie Novak. "Tonight, we did a good job executing on what we practiced this week and need to continue working to prepare for Saturday's game."
First Quarter
Marley Rokas opened with a jumper before
Vania Hampton sank a triple for a 5-0 lead. Belhaven scored the next five for the tie, but the Lobos amassed a 15-0 answer. Rokas scored the first five of the run and had seven during it.
Alexis Carmosino,
Cassie Hogan and Hampton also added buckets during the run for a 20-5 lead.
Teresa Quintana finished the first with a late three-pointer for a 23-7 advantage.
Second Quarter
Rokas opened the quarter again with a jumper and then sank a pair of free throws for a 27-7 lead. Hampton then upped it to 23 with a triple and Carmosino later to 25 with a layup to make it 34-9. Quintana gave the Lobos their largest lead of 28 on a triple with just under four minutes left to make it 45-17. The Blazers finished the half with a 12-6 run for a 51-29 score at the break.
Third Quarter
Quintana hit her third triple a minute in for a 25-point lead to open the third. Rokas later scored five in a row with a free throw and then back-to-back layups. Carmosino then made a layup to finish what was a 9-0 run for a 62-31 score. Sully's largest lead of the third was 37 and came on two occasions. After Carmosino and

Kayla James hit a pair of free throws for a 73-36 advantage. Then late in the third,
Caitlyn Corley made a layup for a 77-40 score that went to the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
The Lobos opened the fourth with two from Ramlochan and four from Hogan for a 6-2 run and 83-42 lead, their largest of the game. With the sizable advantage, Sully was able to give good minutes to the bench. They continued to play hard, never letting the Blazers within 31 in a 91-60 final.
Stats
Rokas' game-high 22 points came on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Of her game-best 10 rebounds, three were offensive. It's her eight straight game scoring in double digits.
Carmosino finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Hogan scored 14 and had seven rebounds.
Hampton had 11 points and a pair of steals.
The Lobos improve to 11-9 and 7-8 in conference. Belhaven falls to 7-7 and 3-7.
Sully next hosts East Texas Baptist at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday.
