Lobos' season ends in Quarterfinals loss to LeTourneau

BELTON, Texas - Men's hoops made a valiant second half comeback but couldn't get all the way back in a 73-61 loss to LeTourneau in the ASC Quarterfinals.

"I can't thank the seniors enough for their dedication and hard work!" said head coach Xavier Webb. "Logan and Jake are extraordinarily good men and will be missed. Our young guys will need a big offseason and we will look to add some pieces for the upcoming season to take steps forward."

First Half
Sully's first lead came at the end of a 6-0 run. Gabe Sanchez cut it to three with a triple and then added another for a 10-9 advantage. The Yellowjackets came back with the next nine and eventually upped it to 42-17. Sully twice cut it to 20, first on a Jake Lopez jumper and later a Julian Paredes jumper. That was the last score of the half for 46-26 LETU lead at the break.

Second Half
Logan Dixon opened the second half with a triple to cut it to 17. Sully continued to chip away, getting to within 14 on a Dixon layup and free throw after the foul for a 55-41 score with 12:24 left. Still down 14, Dixon made back-to-back buckets to cut it to 57-46 near the midway point. Caelyb Kerley was later fouled on a made layup and sank the free throw for a 59-51 score with 8:38 left. LETU immediately stretched it back to 13 and got up as many as 17 in what finished as a 73-61 final.

Stats
Dixon finished with a team-high 19 points and matched a game-high four steals.

Kerley added 11 points, five rebounds and two steals.

Julian Paredes led the Lobos with seven rebounds, adding three assists and two steals.

The Lobos finish the season 10-16 and 7-13 in conference.
