ABILENE, Texas - Saturday's first inning proved to be the difference in softball's 4-2 loss to McMurry.
McMurry scored all four runs in the top of the first off starter
Rebecca Rodriguez. She was relieved after .2 innings for
Jodie Vaughn. Vaughn proceeded to throw 5.1 shutout innings of three-hit ball with eight strikeout.
The Lobos got on the board in the top of the third after
Camryn Hardin scored on a throwing error.
Sully cut it to two in the top of the sixth on a single by
Alejandra Ruedas that plated
Jenna Spencer.
The Lobos outhit McMurry 9-6 for the game but were unable to plate any more in the 4-2 loss.
Sully falls to 1-2 on the early season and 1-2 in conference play. McMurry improves to 4-1 and 2-1.
The Lobos next host Schreiner for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, February 15.
