BELTON — The Sul Ross State women's soccer team was trying to defeat the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for the first time in program history.
On Thursday evening, the Lobos gave it their all in the first half as the game was deadlocked at 1-1 at the half.
The Crusaders scored four goals in the second half to extend their winning streak to 10 games with a 5-1 victory.
Mackenzie Worthy put UMHB on top 1-0 in the 11th minute.
Sul Ross answered back four minutes later with a goal from
Judith Macias.
The Lobos controlled most of the possession during the first half as they tried to take advantage of 10 fouls called on the Crusaders.
During the 50th minute, UMHB took a 2-1 lead with a goal by Kennedy Harris that came off an assist by Kelsey White.
Six minutes later, the Crusaders extended the lead with a goal from Maria Rico.
White found the back of the net (73') while Natalie Mason scored the final goal of the match (83').
The Crusaders out shot the Lobos 10-1 during the second half.
Aylin Pereyra finished with two shots, both came on the mark.
Allison Cohen had one shot on goal.
Alitzel Ybarra made two saves in the net.
