BELTON — It was going to be a tall task for the Sul Ross State men's soccer team Thursday night against one of the top team's in the American Southwest Conference.
The Lobos trailed the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 1-0 at halftime.
UMHB then scored four goals in the second half to pull away with the 5-0 victory.
Karsen Macias scored two minutes into the match off an assist by Francisco Maldonado.
Maldonado helped extend the lead to 2-0 during the 64th minute of the second half.
Jack Bryan found the back of the net (72') with an assist from Sawyer Young.
Ben Platt added a goal (78') and Ramiro Moreno tallied the final score (83') off an assist by Alex Bethke.
The Crusaders outshot the Lobos 22-5.

Justin Quinonez and
Oscar Morales all tallied one shot each for Sul Ross.
Julian Sandoval made six saves in 78 minutes at goalkeeper.
