MARSHALL — For the first time since the condensed spring season of 2021, the Sul Ross State women's soccer program is headed to the American Southwest Conference tournament.
The Lobos received the sixth-seed and will travel to Round Rock on Tuesday, Nov. 1 for a 7 p.m. match against second-seeded Concordia in the quarterfinals.
Since the women's soccer program was started in 2015, the Lobos have made the tournament four times prior from 2016-2019.
On Saturday afternoon, the Lobos dropped a 1-0 match to the East Texas Baptist University Tigers.
Brianna Mickshaw scored in the 20th minute off an assist from Olivia Gallegos.
Sul Ross had 14 shots to ETBU's 15.
Judith Macias and
Joanna Estrada had three shots each while Deserie Herrera and Yissel Olivares each finished with two shots.
Alitzel Ybarra made six saves on the defensive end.
