RICHARDSON, Texas - Men's soccer began their conference campaign with a 5-0 loss on Thursday to defending ASC Champs UT Dallas.
Goalkeeper
Alexis Tellez was on his toes all night facing ten shots on goal and tallying five saves.
Jair Moreno and
Xavier Russell paced the Lobos with one shot on goal each.
FROM COACH E:
- It wasn't our night as the score line indicates. We got outplayed and out-coached.
- They beat us all over the field and took us out of our game. That's a credit to them.
- To the credit of our group, we stuck together and made some adjustments to find our rhythm again for a while in the second half. That's a testament to the leadership we have and the teams commitment to each other.
- We have to have a short memory and close out the difficult early season stretch and opening road weekend by helping ourselves out.
- We have to give ourselves a chance in every game and learn to put teams away when we have the opportunity.
- We'll bounce back and be ready for Saturday.
Sul Ross drops to 3-2 (0-1 ASC).
UT Dallas moves to 5-2-1 (1-0 ASC).
Sul Ross returns to action this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Clarksville, AR against Ozarks.
