Britney Berumen netted her second goal of the game in the 89th minute to force overtime in what eventually would end in a 2-2 tie in double overtime against visiting Hardin-Simmons.
Berumen's first goal of the game came unassisted to give the Lobos a 1-0 lead not even two minutes into the game.
HSU's Chloe Devore tied the game in the 43rd minute of the first half to make it 1-1 heading to the half.
It remained tied until Rachel Bean scored off an assist from Madelyn McDowell for a 2-1 lead for the Cowgirls in the 55th minute.
HSU held the lead and looked primed for the victory until Berumen tied things up in the 89th minute to force overtime.
Alitzel Ybarra made the lone save of the first overtime as the Cowgirls led shots on goal 2-1 and the game went to double overtime.
In the second overtime, each side put up a shot with Sully getting it on goal. That was either side's only chance in the second extra period as the game ended in a 2-2 tie.
Since 2014, Sully was 0-5 against Hardin-Simmons. It is only the third time in six matchups the Lobos scored a goal and this was the first time they netted multiple in the same game.
Of Sully's five shots, four were on goal. Two came from Berumen and a pair came from
Joanna Estrada.
Ybarra finished with six saves after 110 minutes in goal.
The Lobos move to 2-1-1 on the regular season and in conference. HSU stands at 2-0-1 in both.
Sully next travels to Abilene to take on McMurry on Sunday, March 14.
