PINEVILLE, Louisiana - After a 3-2 loss in game one, a three run rally in the top of the seventh gave the Lobos a 7-5 win in game two to split Friday's doubleheader against Louisiana College.

Game One: Wildcats 3 - Lobos 2
The Wildcats scored two in the first inning and one in the second for a 3-0 lead heading to the third.
Starter
Jodie Vaughn settled down and pitched shutout third and fourth innings to keep it a 3-0 score heading to the fifth.
Mary Villarreal put the Lobos on the board in the fifth on an RBI groundout that scored
Miranda Martinez to cut it to 3-1.
Sully got a run closer in the top of the sixth when
Nadia Valverde singled home
Camryn Hardin for a 3-2 game.
Vaughn continued to pitch well, shutting out the Wildcats in the fifth and sixth innings.
The Lobos were able to get the tying run on first in the top of the seventh but were unable to score for a 3-2 LC win.
Hardin and Martinez each had a pair of hits to go with a run scored.
Vaughn went six innings of five-hit ball, allowing three earned runs with two walks and four strikeouts.
Game Two: Wildcats 7 - Lobos 5
The Wildcats again took an early lead with three in the first inning and one in the second for a 4-0 lead.
Halie Guillen started the rally for the Lobos in the third with an RBI single to score
Veronica Rodriguez.
Annika Canaba then stepped in and sent a single to left field. Guillen came all the way around to score on a fielding error to make it a 4-2 game.
Martinez was the next batter and tied the game on a two-run home run to left center for a 4-4 score that went to the fourth.
LC plated the next run on a double in the bottom of the fourth for a 5-4 score that went all the way to the top of the seventh.
With one out in the seventh, Valverde and
Payslee Sims hit back-to-back singles to bring the tying run to the plate.
Rebecca Rodriguez then pinch hit for Villarreal and grounded into a fielder's choice, but a fielding error allowed all runners to advance safely to load the bases.
Danielle Gomez then pinch hit for
Veronica Rodriguez and Villarreal reentered for
Rebecca Rodriguez. Gomez reached on a fielder's choice that cut Valverde down at the plate for the second out.
Heather Rios then stepped to the plate and singled up the middle to score Sims and Villarreal to take a 6-5 lead.
After
Veronica Rodriguez reentered for Gomez, Hardin singled up the middle to score Rodriguez for a 7-5 advantage.
Marley Moralez entered the game to pitch in the bottom of the sixth and closed the door on the Wildcats in the seventh for a 7-5 comeback victory. Moralez picked up her first win of the season with two shutout innings, allowing two hits, walking one, and striking out two.
Hardin, Canaba, Valverde, and Sims all had two hits in the game.
Canaba and
Samantha Chavez each had a steal.
With the split, the Lobos stand at 6-1 on the season and 6-1 in conference. The Wildcats are 7-10 and 2-3.
Both sides finish their series Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. in Pineville.
