ABILENE, Texas - Men's basketball fell 94-71 to host Hardin-Simmons on Wednesday in the ASC Quarterfinals.
HSU got out to a quick start and led by as many as seven before the Lobos used a 6-0 run for their first lead of the game.
Jezreel Griffin started with a layup before
Tristen Licon hit a triple to cut it to one. Licon then gave Sully their first lead with another triple.
Trey Nelson finished the run with a free throw for a 16-13 advantage at 13:03.
Both sides swapped small leads before HSU upped theirs to 12 at 6:35.
The Lobos were quick to answer with a 6-0 run to cut the deficit in half. Nelson started with a pair of free throws before
Carson Perkins hit back-to-back jumpers for a 32-26 score at 5:13.
HSU outscored Sully 12-7 the remainder of the first half to take a 44-33 lead to the break.
Julian Paredes opened the second half with a jumper to cut it back to nine at 19:26.
The Lobos cut it to eight twice early in the second, but once the Cowboys went up by double-digits they never looked back in a 94-71 win over the Lobos.
Licon led the Lobos with a team-high 22 points and added seven rebounds.
Nelson and Paredes were both in double-digits with 15 and 14 points respectively. Paredes tied Licon for a team-high seven rebounds.
The Lobos finish their season at 9-12.
