Prempeh's second half goal lifts Lobos to 1-0 win over Howard Payne #SRSU | #ASCsoccer | #d3soccer

BROWNWOOD, Texas - Nana Prempeh was the hero for men's soccer on Friday with a game-winning goal in the 70th minute for a 1-0 win over Howard Payne in their spring opener.

A quiet first half saw a combined six shots and two on goal as the Lobos and Yellow Jackets went to the half with a 0-0 tie.

HPU's offense put the heat on a little more in the second half with six shots and two on goal, but Cesar Sanchez stood tall in goal and saved both. He played all 90 minutes of the game.

It was Nana Prempeh who finally ended the scoreless battle with an unassisted goal at 70:12 that would prove to be the difference maker in a 1-0 win.

The Lobos had a total of seven shots on the afternoon with four on goal.

Sully moves to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in ASC play. HPU drops to 0-2 and 0-1.

The Lobos next host Mary Hardin-Baylor at Lobo Field at 3:30 p.m. on Monday March 1.
