BROWNWOOD, Texas - Volleyball made quick work of the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets with a three-set sweep on Friday night in Brownwood.

Set 1:
The Lobos broke things open early with a 7-2 run to start the match. Scoring started for them with a kill and then a service ace from
Kamrynn Caruth.
Taryn Griner followed with back-to-back kills before
Annika Canaba later added two kills for the five-point lead.
HPU fought back with a 7-1 run to lead 9-8.
Sully took the lead back and held a number of small leads or it was tied before a 5-0 run gave them a 20-14 advantage. Canaba notched two more kills while
Victoria Flores had a kill and
Faith Herrera added an ace.
The Yellow Jackets scored the next two before the Lobos finished with a 5-1 run for a 25-17 win in set one.
Set 2:
Caruth started the second set with an ace that was followed by a Griner kill for a 2-0 lead. That was the start of a 4-1 run that saw kills from Canaba and Caruth. It was also part of a bigger 9-3 run to open the set that finished with a 4-0 answer with a kill and ace by Canaba and two kills from
Mia Bella Ruiz.
HPU cut it to four, but the Lobos offense quickly put separation on the scoreboard with a 10-2 run to make it 19-7. The Yellow Jackets got to as close as 10 three times until
Daniella Garcia finished with a kill for a 25-14 win in set two.
Set 3:
Sully took a 3-1 lead in set three before HPU tied it at 3-3.
Tatyana Colon finished a small 3-0 answer with a service ace for a 6-3 advantage. That proved to be the start of a 12-3 run for a 15-6 lead.
Sully extended their lead to 11 with kills from Canaba and Caruth followed by an HPU attack error for a 21-10 lead.
The Yellow Jackets attempted a comeback and got it to within five until a kill from
Loren Garcia closed the match for a 25-19 score in set three to secure the sweep.
Canaba finished with game-highs of 12 kills and 20 assists. She also tallied six digs, a block and an ace.
Caruth also finished with a double-double of 17 assists and 11 digs. She also had a game-high four aces.
Also in double digits was Herrera with 11 digs.
The Lobos improve to 11-6 on the season and 7-4 in the ASC. HPU falls to 3-14 and 1-9.
Sully next travels to Abilene for a match with McMurry on Friday, October 15.
