Alexis Carmosino and
Vania Hampton finished with double-doubles, but the Lobos found themselves on the wrong end of a 73-57 Wednesday loss to LeTourneau.
Carmosino finished with a team-high 16 points and tied Hampton for a team-best 10 rebounds. Hampton finished with 12 points for her third double-double of the season. For Carmosino, it was her second.
Kaylee Martinez got scoring going with a pair of free throws before LETU answered with a three for the lead change at 7:56.
Teresa Quintana quickly gave the Lobos the lead again on a jumper the next time down the floor, but the Jackets again answered with a layup for the start of a quick 4-0 run and a 7-4 lead at 6:20.
Cassie Hogan responded with her own 5-0 run on a triple and a layup for a 9-7 lead with 5:41 left in the first.
After LETU responded with a game-tying layup, Carmosino came back with her own layup for an 11-9 edge at 4:02.
The first quarter proved to be a game of lead changes with the Jackets responding with a three-pointer to lead by one. Hampton had an answer for that with a triple and then a layup to go ahead 16-12 with 2:55 remaining in the first.
Up 16-15 with 49 seconds left, Hampton again made good with a layup to lead by three, but LETU finished the quarter on a quick 5-0 run to take a 19-18 lead to the second.
Ashley Nunez started the second with a lead change on a jumper for a 20-19 lead just 27 seconds in.
After the Jackets took the lead again with a three, Nunez converted a layup before Hogan sank a triple for a 25-22 lead at 6:59.
The second quarter saw two more lead changes before LETU retook the lead at 3:48 on the start of a 13-2 run for a 42-32 lead at the break.
Sully opened the third on a 9-2 run over the first 2:40 to cut it to 45-41. Carmosino added five during the stretch while Hampton and Hogan each added two.
The Jackets soon extended their lead to nine on a 7-2 run, but Sully came right back with an 8-1 answer to trail 53-51 on Nunez's jumper at 1:24.
Both sides traded baskets over the final 1:07 for a 56-53 LETU lead heading to the final quarter.
The Jackets opened the fourth with a 9-0 run over the first 4:06 to lead by 12 and would go on to outscore the Lobos 17-4 in the quarter to win 73-57.
Carmosino's team-high 16 points came on 7-13 shooting and 2-4 from beyond the arc.
Hogan was also in double digits with 10 points.
Sully falls to 2-5 on the season. LETU improves to 3-1.
The Lobos concludes the DCC Christmas Classic with a 1:00 p.m. Thursday tip against Texas A&M-Texarkana.
