ALPINE- UT Dallas women's basketball led wire-to-wire Thursday in a 89-44 win over the Lady Lobos at the Gallego Center.
UTD started the game on a 7-0 run before
Maria Maldonado's jumper at 7:59 put Sully on the board.
Kaylee Martinez later cut the deficit to 11-4 on a jumper at 5:27.
The Comets then used a 7-0 run to take a double-digit lead, 18-4, and took a 24-11 lead to the second quarter.
Down 13, Martinez was fouled on a successful layup and hit her free throw at 8:33 for a 28-18 score.
UTD controlled the rest of the quarter to lead 45-24 at the break.
The Comets offense continued their first half success in the second to defeat the Lady Lobos by a 89-44 margin.
Maldonado finished with a team-high 15 points on 5-9 shooting and 2-4 from beyond the arc.
Martinez was also in double-digits with 14 and added a team-high five rebounds.
Sully falls to 4-13 and 2-6 in ASC play. UTD improves to 13-4 and 7-1.
The Lady Lobos are back in action Saturday at the Gallego Center with a 1:00 p.m. tip against University of the Ozarks.
