MARSHALL- Women's basketball fell behind early and couldn't recover as East Texas Baptist came away with an 88-45 win Saturday.
ETBU scored the first 11 points of the game before a
Jocelyne Roque layup put the Lady Lobos on the board at the 5:29 mark of the first quarter.
The Tigers finished the quarter on a 13-3 run for a 24-5 score heading to the second.
Chandre Nunez scored the next seven for Sully as she cut it to 15 on a 7-3 run with 7:00 remaining in the first half.
ETBU outpaced the Lady Lobos 14-8 the rest of the half for a 41-20 score at the break.
Sully narrowed the gap to 19 twice in the third, but the relentless Tigers offense gave ETBU an 88-45 win.
Nunez finished with a game-high 19 points and team-high three steals.
Maria Maldonado scored 10 with four rebounds and a shared game-high seven assists.
The Lady Lobos move to 4-12 on the season and 2-5 in the ASC. The Tigers improve to 11-4 and 5-1.
Sully next plays host to UT Dallas Thursday, January 23 for a 5:30 p.m. tip at the Gallego Center.
