Chandre Nunez's team-high 27 points wasn't enough Thursday in a 74-57 road loss to LeTourneau.
Nunez broke the scoreless tie with a triple at 9:23 and went on to score the first 10 points of the game on 4-4 shooting for a 10-0 lead.
Kaylee Martinez's layup at 6:15 finished Sully's 12-0 start to the game with 6:15 left in the first quarter.
The YellowJackets finally got on the board with a pair of free throws at 4:44. LETU used the remainder of the quarter to close the gap to a 20-17 Sul Ross lead heading to the second.
Maria Maldonado started the second with a jumper followed by two Martinez free throws for a 24-17 lead.
The YellowJackets used the next 5:15 on a 15-0 run for a 32-24 lead with 2:54 left in the half.
The Lady Lobos then outscored LETU 8-4 and trailed 34-30 at the break.
Kensi Parker started the third with a triple before a Nunez jumper capped a 5-0 run for a 35-34 Sully lead at 8:56.
After a layup from the YellowJackets, Nunez drained a three-pointer for a 38-36 lead.
LETU responded with an 11-2 run over the next 4:49 for a 47-38 advantage with 2:33 left in the third.
Joceleyne Roque made a pair of free throws and next time down the floor Maldonado converted a layup to trail by five. The YellowJackets hit a three with two seconds left for a 50-42 score heading to the fourth.
Trailing 52-43, the Lady Lobos used a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to three. Nunez started the streak with a jumper and ended it with a triple for a 52-49 score with 6:28 left.
LETU answered with an 8-2 run to go up nine with 3:24 remaining.
Sully got to within six on a Parker jumper and
Ashley Nunez free throw but saw the YellowJackets end the game on a 14-3 run over the next 2:16 in a 74-57 loss.
Chandre Nunez tied a game-high 27 points on 11-14 shooting and 4-4 from three. She also added a team-high seven rebounds.
Maldonado was also in double-digits with 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
The Lady Lobos fall to 4-11 and 2-4 in the ASC. LETU moves to 7-7 and 3-2.
Sully now makes the short trek to Marshall Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. conference clash with East Texas Baptist.
