Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Lady Lobos fall in three sets to Concordia on Senior Day #SRSU | #BrandEm | #ASCvb

ALPINE- The Lady Lobos were swept in three sets by Concordia on their final regular season game, but volleyball fans were able to say farewell to two impactful seniors on senior day Saturday.

Seniors Autumn Kilpatrick and Hannah Zly were honored pregame.

Kilpatrick, a four year letterman from Sterling City, TX, was escorted by her father Todd and mother Jodie.

Zly, from Killeen, TX, is also a four year letterman. She was escorted by her father Michael and mother Karla.

Scores for the match were 25-17, 25-14 and 25-20 in favor of the Tornados.

The Lady Lobos played Concordia tough through most of the first set. Gaining a 4-3 lead on a Tornado attack error and retaking the lead 5-4 on a kill by Annika Canaba.

Sully would take their largest lead of the set 7-5 on a Canaba service ace.

The Tornados would use a 4-0 run to take a 9-7 lead.

The Lady Lobos used their own 4-1 run with the help of kills from Kyleigh Mulanax, Autumn Kilpatrick, and Asher Haack to go back ahead 11-10.

That would be Sully's last lead as Concordia used two different 4-0 runs down the stretch for a 25-17 win in set one.

The Tornados started set two on another 4-0 run.

Sully would keep it close early, but Concordia never trailed throughout and took set two, 25-14.

The Lady Lobos found themselves down 7-3 early in set three. A quick 3-0 run brought it to within a point at 7-6.

Sully was able to keep pace with the Tornados and never let the deficit grow to more than four, until Sully's 5-0 run put them back ahead 19-18. Katelyn Easley added a kill and Nadia Valverde had back-to-back service aces.

Concordia would answer back with a 7-1 run to end the set 25-20 and took the match sweep.

Mulanax led all Lady Lobos with six kills. Kylee Davis had a team-high 11 assists. Both Valverde and Haack added double digit digs with 14 and 12 respectively.

Sully drops to 8-11 and 1-8 in conference. Concordia improves to 17-4 and 9-1.

The Lady Lobos next head to Abilene for their second crossover of the season hosted by McMurry. Participants include ETBU, Belhaven, and Louisana College and will begin Friday, October 18.
