KERRVILLE- Sul Ross men's soccer dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision to host Schreiner University Friday afternoon.

The home team netted their first goal in the opening half as Tony Cortes' short pass set up a header by Trey Brittenum at the 26th minute.

Kevin Escelera then converted off an assist by Brandon Anselmi at the 76:04 mark in the second half.

Both teams combined for a low-shot total of 12.

Sul Ross goalkeeper Frank Rodriguez recorded four saves in the effort.

The Lobo men fall to 0-3 on the season while the Mountaineers pick up their first season victory at 1-2.

Sul Ross will open American Southwest Conference competition September 13 and 15 at McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.
