IRVING- In its first contest of intercollegiate competition, the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to host University of Dallas Friday afternoon in Irving.
Facing a nearly all-freshman roster, the Crusaders' first goal came in the opening half, just under the 28th minute, as Sean Taylor converted off a Lobo deflection.
Dallas struck again in the second period as Andrew Ciacone's kick scored off another deflection in the box at 52:47.

Luis Gonzalez led the Sul Ross offensive effort with a pair of shots placing one on goal.
Sully begins the season at 0-1 while Dallas begins its 2018 run at 1-0.
The Lobo men head north to Sherman for a Sunday, non-conference bout with Austin College. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
