Hardin-Simmons tops baseball, 9-2

ALPINE, Texas- Hardin-Simmons University scored six runs in the top of the seventh and went on to claim a 9-2 victory over Sul Ross in Friday's round of the ASC Red Bracket tournament at Kokernot Field.

The Lobos scored the first run of the contest in the bottom of the first as Wesley Moss scored on a double by Ryan Almager.

The Cowboys then plated three runs over the fourth and fifth to take a 3-1 lead.

Almager's solo homer in the sixth pulled Sully to within a run before Hardin-Simmons reeled in their six-run attack in the next inning.

Starter Cody Remore shouldered the defeat after six complete innings. 

The Lobos will take on LeTourneau at 11:00 a.m. Saturday while Hardin-Simmons and U.T. Dallas will square off at 3:00 p.m. in day two of the three-day tournament.
