Bracket 5327 | Championship Central

ALPINE, Texas- Following Saturday's series sweep over University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Sul Ross State University Lobos have earned the right to host this year's ASC Red Bracket Tournament.

The top two finishing teams in the conference standings will serve as host.

Sul Ross State hosts the Red bracket at Kokernot Field. No. 3 seed UT Dallas (25-15) plays No. 6 seed LeTourneau (21-17) in Friday's opener at 3:00 p.m. Sul Ross (23-17) plays No. 7 seed Hardin-Simmons (15-25) at 7:00 p.m. Saturday games are scheduled at 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Red bracket championship game is Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Blue bracket is hosted by Concordia Texas at Tornado Field in Austin. No. 4 seed UT Tyler (26-14) plays No. 5 seed Ozarks (19-18) in Friday's opener at 3:00 p.m. Concordia Texas (26-13) plays No. 8 seed East Texas Baptist (21-19) at 7:00 p.m. Saturday's games are scheduled at 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Blue bracket championship game is Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The winners of the two brackets – the Blue and Red brackets – will meet May 10-11 at the highest remaining seed in a best two-of-three game series determining the ASC champion and conference automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.

In Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Sul Ross rallied from a two-run deficit with an 11-run barrage in the sixth to claim a 16-7 victory.

Despite a three-run opening inning by the Crusaders in game two, Lobo bats erupted as Sully went on to post a 14-4 win that was called in the seventh inning due to the mercy rule.
