MARSHALL- Five Lobos posted double figures as Sul Ross (1-0) defeated Louisiana College (0-1) in a 77-60, non-conference regional contest Thursday in Marshall.
C.J. Ross led the charge with 13 points along with a team-high five assists.
Sully started the contest on a 4-0 run but lost the lead as a three-point bucket by Jacquez Coleman capped a 5-0 Wildcat run at the 17:11 first half mark.
B.J. Hollis then converted the first of two free throws to tie the game at seven.
Ross started and ended a 6-0 run with a jump shot in the paint and a fast break layup giving the Lobos a 13-7 advantage at 14:15.
Sully then pounced on a 10-0 run that was finished by a layup from
Gary Ringo, JR for a 27-11 lead at 8:06.
Brock Anders completed an old fashioned three-point play with a layup and free throw giving Sully its largest lead of 18 with 5:33 left in the opening half.
Louisiana College fought its way down to an eight-point deficit and trailed 41-33 at the half.
The Lobos began the second half on a 6-0 run culminating in a layup by Ross at 17:39.
A scoop shot by Louisiana College's Devon Washington at 14:17 marked the final time the Wildcats trailed by single digits.

Conner Dawson at 9:43 gave Sul Ross its largest lead of 19.
The Wildcats could pull no closer than a pair of 11-point deficits as Sully put the opposition away with a 4-0 run for the 77-60 final.
Caleb Thomasson, Anders and Hollis all contributed 11 points while Dawson chipped in 10 points.
Freshman guard
Tristen Licon led the team with eight rebounds.
Sul Ross shot 29 of 61 from the floor at 48 percent and dominated the opposition in second chance points by a 17-5 margin.
The Lobos also outpaced the Wildcats in fast break points, 17-4.
Sully will take on East Texas Baptist University in a 2:00 p.m. non-ASC game Friday in Marshall in the second half of the back-to-back.
