Jonette Jackson (Killeen/Shoemaker) and Kenya Miles (Tomball/Memorial) led SRSU shooters with 10 points each in the effort. Miles was leading rebounder with seven.
Sul Ross shot nearly 40 percent from the field at 21-54 for the contest and finished eight of 11 at the free throw line at 73 percent.
The Patriots utilized an 8-0 margin in fast break points and outpaced the Lady Lobos in points off the bench, 42-30.
Sully put up a 9-2 run to start the game which ended on a layup by Miles at the 5:12 mark, first quarter.
A tip in by U.T.T's D'Onna Matthews secured a narrow 12-10 lead for the Patriots at the end of the opening period.
Sul Ross recovered midway through the second quarter with a jumper by Taryn Johnson (Arlington/Kennendale) and led 20-19 at 5:32.
The Lady Lobos then pounced on a 5-0 run as Armani Lang (Waco/Midway) converted a pair of free throws giving Sul Ross a 29-23 advantage at 2:22.
U.T.T. cut their deficit to a point as Michelle Obach converted a layup and a free throw with the Lady Lobos leading 32-31 at the half.
The Lady Patriots held Sully to nine points in the third quarter and outscored Sul Ross by a 22-14 margin in the fourth to secure the 71-55 win.
The Lady Lobos drop to 2-5 and 0-2 while U.T. Tyler improves to 5-0 and 2-0.
Sul Ross will face a pair of non conference opponents next week as the Lady Lobos travel to Dallas Christian and University of Dallas December 10 and 12.
